Seven Intros

Hey guys, this is not a Seventh Heaven TV show blog FYI (although it may contain a reference or two). I'm Rebekah and I started a blog. This post is seven things about me. I'll be updating on Thursdays. Let's get started.

1. I'm a single mom and it's hard. Let me tell you, being a parent is hard. First of all, not only do I have to feed myself, I am responsible for making sure someone else eats. The driving is the worst: to school, after school, to dance, to friends, to grandmas. It makes you crazy! The endless chatter, whining, dirt, mess, I could go on and on. Love, though, it does something to you. It makes you do things you might not normally do, like carry a piece of chewed gum in your hand until you can safely dispose of it, or let them wipe your nose on your arm. Completely gross but I wouldn't have it any other way. I love being a mom.

2. I'm obsessed with some really stupid TV shows. I'm a soap fan and I've watched many over the years. For 28 of them, I've watched Days of our Lives. I witnessed kidnapping, teen prostitution, evil stepchildren, love, adventure, possession, and even Melaswen. I don't even care. I'm proud of my viewing habits and I plan to watch for at least 28 more years. For other stupid shows, see: 7th Heaven.

3. While we're on TV, how about Friends. Yes, I've watched every episode of Friends multiple times and own the DVDs. I'll watch any episode at any time and still laugh hysterically. I crack up at Buzzfeed posts devoted to Friends and I still wish it was on the air. I don't have a favorite friend; they have all entertained me and pissed me off equally over the years, although Ross... I love TOW the Embroys, TOW Everybody Finds Out, and TOW all the Thanksgivings. And much, much more.

4. I love to read books. All different types of books but I prefer suspense novels and young adult fiction. My favorite book is To Kill a Mockingbird. My favorite author is Sarah Dessen, a YA writer. I love her books so much that I drove down to North Carolina for a book signing. It was so much fun and I plan to do it every summer.

5. I don't have many close friends but the ones I do have, I've had since high school or longer. I love you Anna, Nicole, Terra, and Kristen.

6. I'm obsessed with my family photos. My nana made me, my daugther, my sister, and my two cousins our own scrapbook of pictures. I love to look at them when I go over there. I have thousands of pictures on my two computers and I really want to organize them. I even tried to organize my physical pictures but I gave up. Maybe someday.

7. It is my dream to be a teacher. I have a teaching certificate for Elementary K-5 and I am taking four classes online this semester so I can teach middle school Language Arts. Let me tell you, online courses are no joke. I have a lot of work to do every day. I am committed to these classes so I have suspended my job search until December. I'll continue to work at Applebee's until I finish these classes. Ultimately, I would like to take enough English courses online to complete an English degree. I have really re-discovered my love for literature.
